Habitat
Lobsters live in all the oceans of the world. They live near the shore on rocky, sandy or muddy bottoms. They like to life in crevices in the rocks, or under the rocks.
Diet
Lobsters eat clams, crabs, snails and small fish. They also eat algae and plants called eelgrass.
At night, they walk along the ocean bottom looking for food. Lobsters keep their antennae and eye stalks moving constantly to search for food and to watch for enemies. Its antennae, legs, and shell are covered with hairlike sensors that can help the animal locate food.

Movement
Lobsters have five pairs of jointed legs attached to their body. Four pairs are thin, and the lobster uses them for walking. The fifth pair is used to catch and crush prey.

The American lobster is the largest lobster, and has large claws. Spiny lobsters have sharp spines on their shells. They do not have large shells.
